Toquam Magnet School

Landforms are popping up everywhere on the playground!  One of the fastest growing trends in playground design has been the inclusion of hills.  To add fun and fast ways to get up and down,   topography is added where there is none or designers are leveraging the use of hills where they already exist.

This simple six-foot tall, hill design incorporates slides, climbing nets and stairs.  Adding to the play value, the hill allows kids to run up, roll down or simply get an elevated view of the playground below.  

A hexagonal shade shelter and picnic tables at the top of the accessible hill maximize the best views.
