Portland Town Park
Starting with a proposal by the town’s Planning and Development Commission in 2006 to expand recreational opportunities, the concept of “Portland Town Park” was a monumental achievement that took many years to bring to reality.
With the help of a Master Plan by Weston and Sampson, this park is a true showpiece that includes the whimsical splashpad shown here, a farm-themed playground in the background, fields and courts for a variety of sports, hiking trails and even a sledding hill.
The splashpad features a capture and repurpose tank system that allows the splashpad water to be repurposed for field irrigation.
