Johnson Oak Park
The splashpad design shown here has nature inspired spray features that perfectly complement the surrounding rain gardens. Cattails, frogs, flowers and ground sprays are used as components to create a whimsical design for this neighborhood park.
For this splashpad, the rain gardens are integral in managing and infiltrating the water, allowing the drain to be a secondary method of water management. This use of rain gardens prevents all of the water from entering Bridgeport’s over-taxed, storm/sewer-combined system, while providing an educational opportunity for the student and visitors of the park.
