Fire Fighter Robert M. Greene Memorial Playground at Castle Island

Honoring the legacy of community service, the Fire Fighter Robert M. Greene Memorial Playground brings a dynamic new play experience to one of Boston’s most beloved waterfront destinations.  Designed with a focus on movement, balance, and exploration, this playground features an interconnected system of cables, ropes, and flexible belting materials that promote strength, coordination, and social interaction. This project features a custom design from Landscape Structures, ensuring the highest standards of durability and play value.

This playground design offers long-lasting, low-maintenance materials that stand up to high coastal use and weather conditions.  The structure’s open, sculptural form integrates seamlessly into Castle Island’s historic landscape – encouraging inclusive, imaginative play while maintaining visual transparency and preserving sightlines to the harbor.
