We have been designing playgrounds with steel-reinforced cables for 20 years with amazing success in durability and longevity.  While these cables are not new features on a playground, their use and variety of applications have increased.

At Emery Field, these black cables, made of tightly woven, polyester-wrapped, six-stranded galvanized-steel, are being used for feature on the 5-12 age-appropriate playground, features on the 2-5 age appropriate playground, and on the multi-user swint set.

The benefits of cable on playgrounds aren’t just for fun.  Their durability and see-through design increases the ability for equipment to stay vandal resistant, increases the ability to supervise activity, and eliminates hiding places.
