Blunt Park Playground

The renovation of Blunt Park is a great example of a cooperative outdoor recreation project.  Due to a joint effort by the City of Springfield, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy & Environmental Affairs PARC grant program, the National Park Service LWCF grant program, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development CDBG funding, and the City of Springfield CPA grant program, this extensive park renovation was realized. The playground area features a Landscape Structures TreeTops for children 5-12 years old and a complementing Sprig for children 2-5 years old.  These wondrously abstract playstructures give kids the sense of exploring a forest canopy with interconnected activities at multiple levels.  The DuMor site furnishings are a great complement to this open space design.
