Custom Playground Design
Bring Your Playground Vision to Life
Every community has a story to tell, and a custom playground can bring that story to life through creative, imaginative play.
M.E. O’Brien & Sons specializes in custom commercial playground design for parks, schools, municipalities, landscape architects and community organizations throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont. From subtle custom details to completely themed playground environments, our team can help create a one-of-a-kind play space inspired by your community, location, history or vision.
Working with Landscape Structures and our experienced playground design team, we can incorporate unique colors, materials, graphics, climbing features, towers, panels and imaginative play elements to create a playground that stands apart.
What Can Be Customized?
Custom playground design can go far beyond choosing equipment colors. Depending on the project, custom elements may include:
- Community or school themes
- Custom playground structures and towers
- School colors, logos and mascots
- DigiFuse® graphics and custom play panels
- Nature-inspired playground designs
- Historical and cultural themes
- Unique climbing and net play experiences
- Custom materials, textures and architectural elements
- Imaginative and sensory play features
- Inclusive and accessible play opportunities
- Site-specific layouts designed around the surrounding environment
Whether you have a fully developed concept or simply an idea, our team can help turn that vision into a playground design that is engaging, durable and unique to your community.
Custom Playgrounds Designed for Your Community
Some of the most memorable playgrounds are the ones that could not exist anywhere else.
We have helped create custom playgrounds throughout New England that celebrate local history, school identities, community landmarks, natural surroundings and imaginative themes. From playground structures featuring custom graphics and mascots to large-scale towers, sculptural climbing features and fully themed play environments, every project offers an opportunity to create something special.
Why Choose O’Brien & Sons for Custom Playground Design?
Creating a custom playground requires more than choosing equipment. It requires understanding the site, the people who will use it, the project goals, accessibility, budget, safety requirements and the story the space should tell.
O’Brien & Sons works with clients throughout New England from the earliest stages of playground planning and design through equipment selection, surfacing and installation. Our team can help evaluate your site, identify opportunities for customization and develop a playground that balances creativity, play value, accessibility, durability and budget.
